Use Calculator Area

The Use calculator area is reserved for performing calculations, and is only available when a valid calculator has been built.   It can be reached by clicking on the second tab above the workspace.  Although calculations can be performed in the Design calculator area, it is usually more convenient to use this area, because all the blocks' parameters are on view at the same time.

Most Calculator blocks have a number of parameters which can be set.   For example, the Lines to IP bandwidth block allows you to set the voice compression scheme in use, and the packet interval.   The parameters can be set either using drop down selecting lists, or by entering their values in an edit box.

Above the workspace, there is an edit box which is used to enter the single input value for the calculator.  This is used as the input value to the first Calculator block.  When the input has been set, the calculate button can be pressed.

This causes each block to perform it's calculation in turn.   The output of one block (shown in a grey edit box) becomes the input to the next block.  The calculator can have multiple results, because, when in design mode, one Calculator block's output can be connected to more than one compatible blocks' inputs.
