Version 3 has been completely rewritten.  Users of version 2 will notice that the following features have been added:

Full support is offered for Voice over IP bandwidth calculations, including silence suppression, RTP compression, RTCP compression and varying packet intervals.  Layer two protocols supported include PPP, Ethernet, Frame Relay, ATM and HDLC.
Two displays modes are now supported.  Westplan can be set to an 'Outlook' type of 'Explorer' type window.
The routing between nodes may now be defined, although default routing schemes are also offered.
Traffic figures can be entered as either Busy Hour Traffic (in Erlangs) or daily call minutes.
Full justification notes for each analysis are offered in a new report.
There have been huge improvements in the speed performance of Westplan during its analyses.
